I rented a pair to use in RMNP & was so impressed by how much they helped with traction that I bought a pair. They fit & are so well made that I feel confident that I'll be using them for many years to come.
I also tried on a pair of Microspikes & decided against them because they lacked the spikes for the front of the boot/shoe. The design of the YakTrax aids traction along my entire stride & I really appreciate that.
I purchased these this Christmas and have used them a few times. Recently on Angels Landing in Zions National Park with about 2 ft of snow in spots and a ton of ice! Other climbers were sliding all over the trail with other brands of spikes. These were exceptional in the snow and on the ice! Never had one slip! I don't know what the longevity of these are but for the price they seem very durable. Especially over other brands of similar spikes.
Bought these as christmas presents. We went up to mount Rainier this weekend to try them out and they worked great, easy to put on and take off. Everyone loved them!
I recently received the YAKTRAX Ascent Snow/Ice Traction footwear, and am AMAZED at how well they work on the trail in snow and ice! One apparently cannot slip when wearing these on a good hiking boot! They attach quite securely, especially on a boot with a thick outsole. VERY highly recommended!
